The Adherents of Pra’Raj are a scattered, mostly hidden belief system that rejects the divinity of Gods, as well as the inherent apathy of atheist thought, and instead focuses inward upon the Divinity of the Self.
This faith is very uncommon and rarely, if ever, proselytises. Consider carefully if this religion is suitable for your character. Your character has little reason to know any of the below without following the religion itself.


The name Pra’raj has been ubiquitous in the history of the world, through the rise and fall of many empires, and is often ascribed to the Sun itself.
The Adherents of Pra’raj are a scattered, mostly hidden belief system that rejects the divinity of Gods, as well as the inherent apathy of atheist thought, and instead focuses inward upon the Divinity of the Self. The Pra'raji reject the divinity of the Wheel Gods as false demiurges usurping divine power from the unwise masses, putting them into direct conflict with the adherents of that faith.


Although the philosophy of the Adherence is not inherently foul, and in many places anything but, recent years have made it synonymous with the fell deeds of Zojhir and Qa’im, whose interpretation of the system and its teachings has taken a nefarious turn. Their unwholesome actions, as well as the myriad propaganda campaigns over the centuries from the Wheel faith and their temples and priests, have seen Adherent sects driven underground, persecuted, and hunted to near extinction by numerous inquisitions.
The Pra'raji subscribe to the same creation myth as the B'aarat, but assert that Pra'raj provided Logos, and the 'Light Within', to sentient life, which B'aara fought to prevent. This is considered blasphemy by the Wheel Faith.
 
For most of its history, Pra'raj worship was an underground, mostly-hidden mystery cult practising tenets of self-purification and sun worship, and was popular among scholars in the city of Qa'im. Some 500 years ago, a powerful individual named Zojhir created a new, radical belief system that transformed the Pra'raj faith forever and caused a religious insurrection in Qa'im.
 
Practitioners of the old, 'orthodox' Pra'raj faith are scattered far and wide across the Ash Desert, and maintain secret mystery cults where they may follow their religion hidden from the authorities. They known as the Al'Yataar, or 'Old Truth'.
 
The tenets of the Al'Yataar are as follows:
 
*Attain purity - both of mind and flesh. Abstain from vice, narcotics, and filth. Make a temple of yourself, for it is host to the God within.
*Inquiry is sacred. Learn of science, mathematics, and other such pursuits as might better reveal the mysteries of the World-That-Is-Machine.
*Observe Water-Fasting; deprive the flesh of B'aara's water, to free yourself from enslavement to her smothering control. This is an act of defiance against her priests.
*Fight mental complacency in others. Defy any who make assumptions, or declare universal truths. There is only one certain truth, and that is that you are divine.
*Do not let others subordinate you to false gods. Offer lip-service to protect the Temple of Self, but work always to undermine and defy their priests.
 
The tenets of the Zojhiri Heresy are unknown, and must be discovered in-game.
 
Players who choose this religion should be aware it is illegal in Baz'eel, and by extension Ephia's Well, and as such should expect a need to maintain secrecy about their beliefs. Your deity field should always be "Pra'raj," regardless of doctrine followed.
