Some accuse the Accountants Guild, nicknamed the "Quills" in common slang, of being little more than a street gang or private army serving the ruthless whims of Guildmaster Oscar Tchamorrar—an unruly assortment of loan sharks, racketeers, and assassins. They are known to be deeply skeptical of Peerage rule over Ticker Square and of their appointed representatives. They value business acumen above political manipulation, and direct action above petitioning nobles or passing laws. In their minds, it is still gold that rules the Square. And they intend to keep it that way.
